At Encompass, we understand.

Many people assume that Executive Functioning is intuitive. We understand that it is not.

The notion that Executive Functioning (EF) comes naturally is misleading. It can be difficult to keep track of everything, meet deadlines, stay organized and motivated without stress or procrastination. EF skills are implied throughout life, but are rarely explicitly taught. That is why we strive to support smart, capable, and curious individuals who are struggling.

Importantly, individuals with low EF are often wrongly judged and misunderstood. These misconceptions can lead to feelings of shame, insecurity, and isolation. Those with low EF may also have ADHD, learning differences, anxiety, and depression that fuel their self perception and negative feelings. Because the ways that we think and feel affect our ability to engage and to rest, we utilize our unique methodology: EFCT.

Here’s what you need to know.

Who we support

Students. Parents. Young Adults. Adults.

Executive Functioning affects each of us in our own way no matter our age or where we are in life. That is why we support intelligent, creative, interesting people who have friends, hobbies, and in many ways are successful. But they struggle with EF for reasons often related to ADHD and neurodivergence, anxiety and depression, and learning differences. They often exist within a vicious cycle of avoidance and procrastination, inconsistent motivation, and disorganization that drives shame and insecurity. We are here to help.

Our Unique Methodology

Executive functioning cognitive training

Our methodology is what sets us apart. We understand that EF challenges - disorganization, missed deadlines, procrastination, perfectionism - both affect and are affected by mental health. EFCT integrates three core components: (1) psycho-education to replace shame-based narratives with more accurate and articulate insight, (2) direct, practical support to strengthen skills like task awareness, prioritization, defining “enough,” time management, and context switching, and (3) CBT and ACT informed strategies to build cognitive flexibility, reduce rigid thought patterns, and in doing so increase sustainable motivation. The result is not just improved productivity, but also the ability to more confidently rest without so much guilt and anxiety.
