That’s because adulting is hard.

Many adults struggle to balance their work, home, financial, and personal responsibilities. It can just feel so hard to keep up with everything. To get it all done on time. To make space for yourself. Sometimes it’s even hard to understand what we want, what our goals are. It’s overwhelming and isolating.

This is where our Adult Services come in. Through teaching you core and pervasive Executive Functioning skills, we hone in on what you want, what your goals are, and then create proactive strategies to help you meet those goals. More importantly, we teach you the skills you need to be able to go forward independently and with confidence.

Our primary concern is helping you identify what your goals are.

Whether that be professional, personal, financial, or otherwise.

Here’s what you need to know to get started.

The first step is an initial consultation.

Like all of our services, we custom tailor our strategies to meet you right where you are at. This complimentary 30 minute consultation is where we start the process of unpacking what you want whether that is professionally, personally, or otherwise. We assess what is currently in your way such as unsuccessful routines, motivation blockages, environmental factors, unclear goals, etc. And, most importantly, we determine a custom strategy to help you to develop the core EF skills you need to meet your measures of success.

From there we find the meeting schedule that works best for you.

Each session, you will leave with:

  • A comprehensive breakdown of your goals, tasks and responsibilities.

  • Strategies and check points for accountability.

  • Tools to help you follow through with the stated strategies.

Each subsequent session, we ensure that you are on the right track and that our strategies are increasingly becoming more intuitive and routine.

So, who do we work with?

Our clients are …

Successful. Professional. Intelligent. Motivated. And Overwhelmed.

Meet Paula

Paula is a Senior Vice President at a major corporation. She is smart, motivated, and was diagnosed with ADD as an adult. She is married and has two kids, both at the high school age. She has a beautiful home and is successful by all usual standards.

But Paula is stressed out. She feels that she can’t manage all of her tasks at work easily or efficiently, so she works late, works weekends, and isn’t even sure she’s doing a good job. In fact, other than not disappointing her bosses, she’s not even sure what doing a good job means.

Because she is overwhelmed with work, she feels that any pressure her husband or kids put on her just adds fuel to the fire. She’d also like to run more and have more alone time, without compromising her work or family commitments.

After just a few sessions with us, we were able to help Paula define her own measures of success, to better breakdown her tasks into prioritized units, to create daily and weekly time management strategies, and to work on communication skills to uphold these boundaries and ensure her accountability.

Meet Matt

Matt is a creative person. He works at a design firm and loves his job. He is also a father of two kids. He’s been divorced for five years and is accustomed to the custody schedule. His new girlfriend has 2 kids also and he tries to be as involved as possible.

For the most part, he’s doing really well. But he is prone to depression and to avoiding tasks when they become overwhelming. He does see a therapist, but that doesn’t help him “get everything done” as he would say.

So in addition to wanting to do a better job at work, he is also trying to be proactive about his finances, his hobbies, and his exercise routine.

Matt has bimonthly sessions to ensure that he is staying on top of his goals, communicating about where he gets stuck, and working to find a routine that best suits his personality style. We collaborate with his therapist so that we can all be a team in his growth. As a result, he is more confident and able to communicate more effectively when he feels he is going to shut down or avoid.

Do we collaborate with Therapists?

Yes. Just like we did with Matt. Therapists or mental health professionals are there to treat the root causes of negative thoughts and feelings, to treat past traumas, and to teach coping skills for stress, low confidence, and other mental health needs.

Our work is about looking forward. We help our clients create appropriate goals and teach them the skills needed to meet those goals. But because behavior is so often impacted by negative thoughts and feelings, we believe in a collaborative approach. Put simply, we feel that it is critical that the left hand knows what the right hand is doing.

Where do our sessions take place?

For the time being, all of our sessions are being held via Zoom.
